Tax Manager

Your challenge

As Tax Manager at Ballast Nedam you will optimize tax strategy, ensure compliance, and provide guidance on complex domestic and international projects.

What will you do

As Tax Manager at Ballast Nedam you are fully responsible to formalize and maintain the company’s Tax Policy, Tax Strategy, Tax Planning and Tax Procedures. In this standalone and strategic position reporting directly to the CFO  you serve as the central point of contact for all tax matters. You combine broad fiscal knowledge with in depth expertise in Dutch corporate taxation and know how to turn complex issues into clear and practical advice.

You oversee all aspects of tax compliance and ensure that every tax return, including VAT, payroll tax, corporate income tax and international obligations such as Pillar 2, is accurate and submitted on time. You maintain direct contact with the Dutch Tax Authorities, guide tax audits and prepare reliable tax provisions and disclosures for financial reporting. You are also responsible for transfer pricing documentation and the maintenance of local files.

Your responsibilities go beyond compliance. You develop and maintain our tax policy, strategy and procedures to make sure the organization operates within a transparent and forward looking fiscal framework. You advise management and the board on the tax impact of strategic decisions, new legislation, investments and tenders both in the Netherlands and abroad. You take a proactive approach in identifying opportunities and risks and ensure that the organization optimizes its tax position responsibly.

In our international setting you play an important role in supporting foreign projects and joint ventures. Together with external advisers and the Rönesans Holding tax department you make sure that all fiscal processes are properly structured and comply with local and international rules concerning corporate income tax, payroll tax, VAT and any other applicable tax item.

You also carry out internal tax reviews, monitor legislative changes and keep the organization informed about new obligations and developments. You ensure the accuracy and transparency of all tax data and reports so that our fiscal operations remain compliant and well controlled.

What are you bringing with you

  • You have 10 to 15 years of experience in corporate taxation, preferably gained within the Dutch construction or infrastructure sector. Your background has given you a strong foundation in both operational and strategic tax matters;

  • You hold a university degree in Law or Economics, with a clear focus on (international) Tax Law, and you are confident navigating complex fiscal frameworks in a dynamic business environment;

  • You possess an excellent understanding of Dutch tax legislation, including corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax, Pillar 2 regulations, and transfer pricing. Familiarity with real estate transfer tax (RETT) will be considered an advantage;

  • You combine analytical precision with practical insight and can translate complex tax topics into clear, actionable guidance;

  • You speak native Dutch and fluent English, enabling you to operate effectively in an international context.

What is in it for you

  • Market-based salary with appropriate secondary employment conditions;

  • Working in an interesting, complex and stable international organization;

  • Significant responsibility, independence, and room to make an impact;

  • Ballast Nedam is part of the rapidly growing Rönesans Construction group, operating worldwide and offering international exposure and opportunities.
