Luuc decided one internship wasn't enough

Intern

“The supervision is good, and the company is incredibly diverse!”

“I did an internship as a BIM modeller. I was involved in designing and modelling projects, about cranes, for example, but also bridges and other constructions. I mainly worked with software called Revit. During my internship, I worked in various departments. I worked as a work planner and as a surveyor, and I helped in the design department. I worked on site as well as at the head office.”

Why are you so enthusiastic?
“Both the diversity of the people and the work made my internships at Ballast Nedam as good as they were. The atmosphere is great, and the colleagues are nice. They want to teach, and they look at what kind of work suits you. There are many different options.”
Initiative, independence and accuracy—you only really learn these disciplines in practice, which is very different from what you learn at school.

That sounds great! And…ehm, “Challenge to Improve”?
"Initiative, independence and accuracy—you only really learn these disciplines in practice, which is very different from what you learn at school. You are thrown in at the deep end, and you have to manage to keep your head above water. I found that quite intense, but it taught me a lot, and I am glad I persevered.

I would definitely recommend Ballast Nedam for an internship! The supervision is good, and the company is incredibly diverse! The company is very flexible, and they listen to you. Everyone is treated equal, no matter your experience or level.”
